These trips started as Fathers and Sons trips then evolved into Fathers and Kids because so many girls wanted to join in the fun and is now the Parent and Kids trip because so many woman want to join the fun. Women/girls and men/boys not in the same family will have separate rooms. This is the trip to sign up for if only one parent in a two parent home can come on the trip. (ages 12 and older). Trips include: 1) Daily service by building a home for a homeless family, 2) A Mexican fiesta with traditional Mexican performers and abundant Mexican food.3) Eating at the 2nd best taco stand in Tijuana, and4) Evening activities.

These trips are designed for young single adults (ages 18-29). We will spend 3 days providing service to the homeless and visiting an orphanage. One day will be an excursion to La Bufadora and Ensenada. Girls and boys have separate sleeping quarters.
These trips are for full families working together. Partial family participation (One of a 2 parent family bringing just some of the kids) is not recommended on these trips. Check out our Parent and Kids trip if this is what you need. These trips are designed for families (ages 8 and older) and include: 1) Daily service by building a home for a homeless family, 2) A Mexican fiesta with abundant Mexican food. 3) Eating at the 2nd best taco stand in Tijuana, and 4) Evening activities.
We will be in Tijuana for 4 days. Day 0 (Wed, June 7, 2023): We will meet at the Americana Inn in Chula Vista at 7:00 pm and cross the border at 7:30 pm. We will unpack at Chispa and play games. Day 1-3 (Thurs.-Sat., June 8-10, 2023): We will work on projects to improve the living conditions of the people in Tijuana. Day 4 (Sunday, June 11, 2023): We will cross the border at 8:00 am (arriving in USA between 9:30 am and noon). We DO NOT RECOMMEND booking flights before 1:30 pm because there is no way to predict how long the border crossing will take.

If your family is not selected for the trip, you will receive a FULL REFUND. Otherwise, deposits are not refundable.*

Travel costs to and from the border and in Tijuana are your responsibility. Passports are required for individuals 19 years old and older. Participants 18 years old and younger must have proof of citizenship (copy of birth cert + picture ID e.g. driver's license, school ID where possible).
If this service trip is cancelled more than 30 days prior to trip start, you will recieve a full refund of your donation. If this service trip is cancelled 30 days or less from trip start, you will receive the amount of money not yet spent by Spark of Hope Foundation in trip preparation proportional to your family size.
OPTIONAL: Trip Insurance is available for this trip at $100 per person and must be purchased for every member of your family at time of registration if you decide you want this coverage. Trip insurance is completely optional.
Trip insurance provides the following benefits.
1. Your family may cancel attending the service trip at any time and receive a full refund of all money including the trip insurance for any of the following reasons:
a. Any member of your family has a verifiable case of COVID-19 within 30 days of the beginning of the trip,
b. A death of a member of your immediate family or parents,
c. A verifiable medical condition that prevents participation of any registered members of your family.
2. If this trip is cancelled less than 30 days prior to trip start for any reason by Spark of Hope Foundation, you will receive a full refund of your donation including your trip insurance fee.
Participants must be at least 8 years old to attend.
