Family service trips are designed for whole families. Our service, accommodations and activities will work best when all parents attend with their children 8 years and older. The vision of Spark of Hope Foundation is to deliver hope to the people of Baja California, Mexico through hands-on service from ordinary people. We will cross the border together. It is a fun experience that can last 30 minutes or 4 hours. People over 18 years old need a passport. Those 18 and under need proof of citizenship (drivers license or a copy of a birth certificate). You can read more about this here.
Your trip donation is 100% tax deductible because we are a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization. Your donation will be used mostly for building materials.
In addition, it pays for food, Chispa building upkeep, entertainment and to help ongoing Spark of Hope Foundation initiatives.
COVID-19 caused all but 1 trip in 2020 to be cancelled. We have made the following changes in order to continue the goodness of Spark of Hope in 2021. 1. HEPA + UV filters are installed in Chispa (the dormitory). 2. Masks are provided and participants are encouraged to wear them. 3. As always, plentiful hand sanitizer will be available. 4. Lumber prices have almost doubled. This has forced us to increase trip cost to $625 per person.
Participants must be at lease 8 years old to attend this service trip.
